Mojang has officially named Meadow / Meadows and Carapace in its Dungeons II coverage. The released game contains more named areas, but the full 2027 Java and Bedrock biome list has not been announced.

Which Biomes Are Confirmed in The Sift?

For Dungeons II, Mojang has publicly named two environments: Meadows and Carapace. Minecraft LIVE uses “the Meadow and the Carapace,” while Xbox Wire uses “Meadows and Carapace.” These are the safest names to treat as first-party confirmed.

Post-launch community field guides also report named locations such as Singer's Meadow, Lullaby Hills, and Echo Den. Those names are useful for navigating the released game, but this page keeps a visible distinction between Mojang's announcement-level biome names and community-documented in-game subareas.

Vanilla warning: The Sift is coming to Java and Bedrock in 2027, but Mojang has not said which Dungeons II biomes or location names will carry over unchanged.

Meadow / Meadows

The Meadow is the bright side of The Sift most players recognize from reveal footage: saturated pink growth under a cyan sky, with the visual language designed to make the dimension feel immediately unlike the Overworld, Nether, or End.

Mojang's public material uses both “Meadow” and “Meadows.” Because official articles do not yet provide a complete atlas, it is safer to treat the term as a confirmed Dungeons II area name rather than invent exact biome boundaries or seed-style coordinates.

Community documentation of the released game commonly refers to Singer's Meadow as an early Sift location. That more specific name is useful for Dungeons II players, but it should not be projected onto the future vanilla version unless Mojang confirms it.

Carapace

Carapace is the other location Mojang names directly in its public Dungeons II coverage. Xbox Wire describes The Sift as having multiple new biomes, including Meadows and Carapace, while deliberately keeping additional areas secret for players to discover.

Released-game community guides describe Carapace as a harsher, more fossil-like and sculk-influenced environment than the colorful Meadow presentation, with additional locations inside or around it such as Echo Den. Those finer details come from post-launch documentation rather than Mojang's original announcement copy.

The important SEO and wiki distinction is simple: Carapace is confirmed for Dungeons II; Carapace is not yet confirmed as a vanilla Java/Bedrock biome name.

Other Dungeons II Locations Reported in The Sift

COMMUNITY-DOCUMENTED

Singer's Meadow

Reported as a named Meadow-area location in the released Dungeons II game. Treat it as game-navigation information rather than a promise for vanilla Minecraft.

COMMUNITY-DOCUMENTED

Lullaby Hills

A location reported by current Dungeons II field guides, associated with Sift exploration and Echo Golem-related content.

COMMUNITY-DOCUMENTED

Echo Den

Reported as a location connected with the Carapace side of the dimension. Its name should remain Dungeons II-specific unless official vanilla material reuses it.

NOT FULLY REVEALED

More areas

Mojang explicitly said it was keeping other Sift areas secret. Post-launch discovery is therefore expected to expand the Dungeons II map beyond the two pre-launch names.

Biomes Are Only Part of The Sift

Xbox Wire says The Sift also changes the rules around the player. Shifting tides can affect your character and nearby entities, while hazardous blocks change how exploration works. Mojang's design director also describes the dimension as an independent ecosystem where native mobs can thrive in conditions that hurt the player.

That matters because future biome pages should not just become screenshot galleries. The useful long-term structure is: environment name, edition, hazards, mobs, resources, quests, and source status. As more Java and Bedrock information arrives in 2027, the same database can add a vanilla column instead of rewriting Dungeons II history.

Which Sift Biomes Are Coming to Java & Bedrock?

Mojang has confirmed the dimension itself for Java and Bedrock, but it has not published a final vanilla biome roster. Xbox Wire specifically warns that Mojang is not saying much yet about how the main-game Sift will stand out from Dungeons II's expression of it.
